New Years Eve

Nothing too eventful yesterday except they tried to feed us to death. For lunch they started with a private meeting of world cruisers only. There had to be two or three waiters per guest. The cruise director and the captain attended also. Any kind of booze you could think of was being served besides buckets of caviar, and I mean the good stuff. I ate it until it was coming out my ears and there was still some left when the meeting was over. Next it was a special lunch in the Signatures restaurant. That’s the fancy French one. Food was unbelievable. I’ve already forgotten the appetizer but the main course was lobster wrapped in Dover Sole and all in some kind of terrific yellow sauce. Then later comes dinner. First our butler brings a cheese platter to our suite. We have to hurry up because friends have invited us to their suite for drinks and appetizers. They have more caviar, loads of shrimp, cheeses, fried chicken rolls, veggies and dip, nuts and who remembers what all. This for just four of us. Then of course we went to dinner.

Today we are in Panama going through the cannel. We have already gone through the first set of locks and are now in the Lake between oceans. We have just anchored and we can tender ashore. They put on a terrible show and try to sell us native junk and have a dozen or so Indians sitting around and they are topless. Many of them are women too. Been there, done that so maybe I will go swimming or something While Bobbi has hair or nails or something done. This afternoon we continue through the cannel and by this evening out the far set of locks.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
